It’s nutritious too, feeding your skin essential fatty acids, antioxidants and nutrients that help heal skin tissue, reduce redness and blotchiness, restore skin elasticity, and protect your skin from free radical damage and premature ageing.
prickly pear seed oil: The only thing prickly about this oil is its original cactus-like form. Absorbed quickly, this oil works to nourish, moisturise and soften the skin, leaving your lines and wrinkles smooth, your dark spots bright again, and your pores just right. Whilst it will remedy the signs of ageing, it’s also there to protect you against them, with a potent level of vitamin E and fatty acids, ensuring there’s nothing free about those free radicals.
argan oil: Argan is known as ‘the tree of life’ in Morocco, and it’s easy to see why. Extremely rich in Vitamin E and essential fatty acids, argan oil works to hydrate and soften dry, tired skin, helping restore elasticity and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. elderberry extract: Rich in antioxidants, the elderberry fruit provides protection from free radicals that contribute to things like cell damage, premature ageing and wrinkle formation. What’s more is that it’s rich in bioflavonoids, which help to tighten skin and provide even more anti-wrinkle benefits. Overall, you get a much fresher glow and improved skin tone with the elderberry around.
caprylic / capric triglyceride: This is a ‘fractioned’ relationship between coconut oil and vegetable glycerin, where we combine the two and remove any unstable fatty acids. The result is a much less greasy texture on your skin. We use this to promote the penetration of the active botanical extracts into your skin. We imagine it would also be delicious to cook with.
vitamin E: An effective antioxidant to provide protection from environmental damage, as well as free radicals that contribute to cell damage, premature ageing and wrinkle formation. You’ll look great and feel better when they ask you for ID when shopping for your next bottle of champagne. Vitamin E also repairs scarring and improves dry, dull skin. It won’t help improve your mother in law’s roast though, that will always be dry.
jojoba oil: Is a golden liquid wax, made from the jojoba bean - which are two fun words to say together. More importantly, it can mimic our skin’s natural oils, therefore penetrate deep into our skin layers – where our cells rejuvenate - taking along other nutrients, too: essential fatty acids, vitamins A, D and E, and high levels of antioxidants. Particularly, they boast regenerative, hydrating and protective properties, helping with uneven skin tone, pigmentation, and dry, sensitive and oil skin types.
CoQ10: Is an antioxidant naturally found in the mitochondria of our cells, working to produce energy within them. But as we age our Co-Q10 levels start to decrease, and so do our cells – cue wrinkles and lines. Research has shown that when COQ10 is applied to the skin, it can provide protection against free radicals and the damage they cause. It’s particularly good for treating mature and environmentally damaged skin.
oleo-active pomegranate extract: They’re a delicious burst of flavor in any salad but they’re delicious for your skin, too, bursting with properties that each work to protect, nourish, and rejuvenate your skin. In particular, pomegranate works to trigger the production of keratinocyte – a particular cell found in the outermost layer of your skin – and stop the enzymes that break down collagen. It’s high levels of vitamin C also help support the formation of more collagen. Making it good for the insides and outsides of your body.

Particularly, it is renowned for its ability to increase the synthesis type I collagen - the most abundant collagen that breaks down with age - which is exactly what you want if you’re experiencing mature, tired and heavy skin.
spilanthes acmella flower extract: Known as ‘nature’s botox’, this flower is renowned for its ability to relax facial tension, firm your skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines. Because we smile, frown and laugh, our skin is subjected to thousands of involuntary micro-contractions every day, which lead to wrinkles and they can become more visible over time. It is the muscle relaxant properties in spilanthes acmella that slows down these micro-contractions, making it effective at helping to reduce the appearance of these fine lines. So you can keep smiling, frowning, and laughing all day, every day.
supercritical CO2 rosemary leaf extract: This tasteful seasoning fights the signs of ageing before they hit you. Anti-inflammatory (unlike the potatoes), and anti-microbial compounds, help to keep your skin firm and elastic, like the waistband in your trackies after dinner.
NOT SURE WHAT SUPERCRITICAL CO2 EXTRACTS ARE?
This is the scientific term that we use to describe extremely pure plant extracts, produced using a highly efficient process.
It starts with pumping pressurised carbon dioxide into a chamber filled with the plant matter. Then the carbon dioxide is subjected to pressure, a lot of pressure.
Not like, ‘I have a report due in 1 hour that I haven’t started’ pressure. But ‘a male African elephant riding on a blue whale, carrying a small child in an egg and spoon race’ kind of pressure.
When under this kind of pressure, carbon dioxide it becomes supercritical, obtaining liquid properties whilst remaining in a gaseous state. Because of this, the CO2 functions as a solvent, puling the oils, pigment and resin from the plant matter. Traditional extraction processes use heated water, steam or solvents like hexane, heptane or ethanol, which can cause damage to the plant matter and/or the environment.
